X (2022)

A B-List horror flick with very minimal plot lines and does a terrible job trying to connect Christianity to the ensuing massacre. The preacher, who was the prior mentioned attempt, rambling on the tv the entire movie has no use to the plot except for a last ditch effort to connect him to the main character. I guess the killers calling the group a bunch of degenerates is the attempt to connect to christianity, but the wife's motivation is sexual sadisim/jealousy. The acting is average, but doesn't detract from the movie. Some kills are gory, but not to an extreme level. There isn't anything ground breaking about any of the kills. None of the characters are likeable, except for the guy who got killed off first, so I actually found myself hoping most of them would die. The movie does well in giving a creepy vibe throughout. Overall, the movie is below average. I wasn't not entertained, but definitely only see it if there is nothing else. 4/10.
